Lena C. Brandt, 92, of Fort Calhoun died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Omaha. Interment will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Lena Christina Knag was born Jan. 17, 1915, in Irvington to Hans and Edith (Kruse) Knag. She married William F. Brandt on Dec. 7, 1941, at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church.

The couple farmed near Osceola until 1950, when they moved to Omaha. Mrs. Brandt was a resident at Autumn Pointe Assisted Living for 18 months.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Janice and Stefan Biga of Omaha; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Rurup of Blair; sister-in-law, Lucille Knag of Fort Calhoun; nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends from Autumn Pointe.

She was preceded in death by husband, William. Memorials are requested to St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Omaha Home for Boys, or the Fort Calhoun Fire Department.
