Funeral services for Margaret Josephine Brandt, 87, who died August 14, 1986, at Crowell Home in Blair, were held Monday, August 18, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Father Dan Galas officiated and burial is set for Resurrection Cemetery in San Gabriel, California on Tuesday, August 19.

Mrs. Brandt was born January 28, 1899, the daughter of John and Mary Horley of Gretna. She married R.R. Brandt.

She was a graduate of St. Catherine's School of Nursing in Omaha. Mrs. Brandt was the first anesthesiologist in Kansas City, Missouri. She later moved to California where she worked for an oral surgeon until her retirement in 1965. She moved to Omaha and later to Blair in 1976.

Survivors include one sister, Mae Thomsen of Blair, two nephews and one niece.

Pallbearers included Rodger Fitch, Mike Grotto, Kriss Grotto and John Coyle.

Campbell Funeral Home of Blair was in charge of arrangements.
