Mrs. Ida Wright Dies at Kennard

Five Sons and Three Daughters Survive Kennard Lady

Mrs. Ida Wright, 73, resident of Washington County for 61 years, died at about ten o'clock Friday morning, May 6, at her home in Kennard after an illness of a month's duration. Her illness began with an attack of quinsy, which was followed by a stroke. She was unable to rally from the latter attack.

Mrs. Wright was born at Madison, Wisconsin, April 24, 1859, and when 12 years of age came to Washington County to reside and had lived in and near Kennard the greater part of the time. Though residing in Blair for several years she came back to Kennard about four years ago, where she lived until her death.

She was married to Samuel McGee Wright in 1874 and to this union ten children were born, two of whom and the husband, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wright was always deeply interested in her home, her children and their affairs and was always happiest when they were around her. She loved flowers dearly and always had a great many growing in her garden and lawn. She was working to beautify the tree stumps in front of her home by placing boxes of flowers on then when she became ill.

She is survived by five sons, Elmer of Kennard, James of Randolph, S. M. of Hooper, Alva E. of Arlington and Cullen of Blair; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Jahnel, Kennard, Mrs. Geo. H. Nelsen, Blair and Mrs. Roscoe Stewart, Irvington; one sister, Mrs. P. M. Wilcox of Blair; several grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at two p.m. on Sunday, May 8, Rev. Mr. Booher being in charge of the services. The singers, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jenkins, George Hedelund and Mrs. Harland French, with Mrs. Gifford French at the piano, sang a number of beautiful songs during the service. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased. Interment was made in the Kennard cemetery by the side of her husband.

The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved children.
