Robert Eric Blake, son of Robert Edward and Tammy Sue (Smith) Blake, was born on July 4, 1982 in Omaha, Nebraska. He entered into rest on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the age of 35 years, 9 months, 4 days.

After his birth, Eric joined his family in Gravity, Iowa where they lived before moving to Bedford, Iowa. He attended kindergarten through 2nd grade in the Bedford Community School District. Before the start of his 3rd grade year, the family moved to Farragut, Iowa. From 3rd grade through graduation, he attended Victory Life Christian School. He graduated from Victory Life with the Class of 2001.

Following graduation, Eric attended classes at Iowa Western Community College. He began working at Burger King and Beecher Chevrolet right out of school. He also worked at McDonalds, NSK in Clarinda, Iowa and then in later years worked at Eaton Corp and was currently working at the Pella Windows and Doors plant in Shenandoah as a molder operator.

An avid outdoorsman, Eric loved to fish and hunt deer, pheasants and turkey. He also enjoyed playing Xbox. In his younger years, he loved to write stories and songs, play baseball and act in school plays. He was a member of the Fellowship Church in Oakland, Iowa, previously known as FFCC- Fellowship of Faith Christian Center.

Preceding Eric in death were his paternal grandparents, Robert and Beatrice Blake; maternal grandparents, Cecil and Bonnie Smith; and an infant brother, James Edward Blake.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Ed and Tami Blake of Farragut; sister, Amy Blake of Farragut; two brothers, Matt Blake and fiancé Caitlyn Wiegel and daughter Morgan of Shenandoah and Michael Blake of Farragut; fiancé, Tammy Hilgerson of Shenandoah; children, Amberh Pruett and husband John of Essex, Cory Schlup of Clarinda and Libby Yost and fiancé Joey Baumli of Ravenwood, MO; five grandchildren, Hayley, Kiley, Kenzley, London, Tyson and a sixth, Mia Erica, to arrive in July; aunts, uncles, cousins, brother and sisters-in-law; other relatives; three pets, dog, Molly and two cats, Bella and Cosmo; and many friends.

On Sunday, April 8, 2018, there was a car accident west of Shenandoah, Iowa. Eric Blake entered eternity that morning at the age of 35 years, 9 months, 4 days.
