Leon “Lee” Dale Kuhr, 89, of Lakewood, Colo., passed away Friday, June 1, 2018.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2018, at Rockland Community Church, 17 South Mount Vernon Road, Golden, Colo. Burial was on June 6, 2018, at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.

Lee was born June 18, 1928, in Blair to Martin O. Kuhr and Esther (Sorensen) Kuhr. He graduated from Blair High School, attended Iowa State University and served in the United States Coast Guard. Lee married Gloria Jessen of Blair in 1948. Lee was a dedicated employee of MIC/GM until his retirement. He also enjoyed volunteering as a Ski Patrolman at Winter Park, Colo., for many years.

Lee is survived by his loving wife, Gloria, as well as his children, Becky Lovelett of Cheyenne, Wyo., Sandy Walton of Eaton, Colo., Jim Kuhr of Littleton, Colo., five adoring grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and another on the way. He is also survived by his brothers, Martin, Richard and Melvin of Blair.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Donald and his sister Eunice Linnenkohl.

Lee was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by friends and family alike.
