The body of Mrs. W. H. Menking was brought here from Geneva, Neb., Monday evening and taken to the home of her aunt, Mrs. Ella Tyson, where the funeral was held at 10 o’clock yesterday, Rev. Z. C. Mauer, of Waterloo, officiating. Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery where rest the body of her only child, Elbert LeRoy Jones, who died at the age of four years. Nora Belle Beard was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Beard and was born on the farm where they now live, November 28th, 1881. She was married to Fred W. Jones January 24th, 1901. She was married to W. H. Menking July 6, 1911. She was operated on for appendicitis January 30 and she never fully recovered. She died on the 16th and a short funeral service was held at their home in Geneva on Monday. Mrs. Ella Tyson and Mrs. E. M. Fletcher went out to attend the funeral and returned with the burial party. In the party besides the husband, and son, Howard, was also Dr. Blakely, the family physician, Mrs. Fred Payne and daughter, Helen. Besides her parents and husband she leaves to sister, Mrs. E. M. Fletcher and Mrs. Fred Payne, and three brothers, Harry Beard, of Hebron, W. E. who lives on the old farm, and Byron of this city.

The funeral services for Mrs. Nora Menking, wife of Wm. H. Menking of Geneva, Nebraska, were held Tuesday morning at the home of an aunt, Mrs. Ella Tyson, of this city.

Mrs. Menking, a former Washington County girl, had lived in Geneva for about twelve years. She had never been well since she had an operation for appendicitis last January and she died at her home, Thursday, October 16th. ~~~Obituary courtesy of the Washington Genealogical Society.
