Evelyn Fleming, 70

Funeral services for Evelyn E. Fleming of rural Herman were held Monday, February 22, 1988, at the Fremont Presbyterian Church. Rev. Thomas E. Robson of Tekamah officiated.

The organist was Mary Satorie, and Dick Satorie was soloist.

Pallbearers were Dan and Michal Rice, Duane and Greg Jordan, Alvin Andersen and Gary Kruger.

Burial was in Memorial Cemetery, Fremont.

She died February 18, 1988, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Evelyn was born June 6, 1917, in Telbasta to Carl and Georgine (Nielsen) Petersen.

She moved from Telbasta to Cedar Bluffs while in high school.

She married Donald K. Fleming October 1, 1940, at Fremont Presbyterian Church, and they farmed near Ceresco and Cedar Bluffs, before moving to Herman in 1952 to farm.

Evelyn was a 41 year member of the Evergreen Chapter 138 Order of Eastern Star, Cedar Bluffs, where she held various offices, including Past Worthy Matron in 1954. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fremont.

Survivors include husband, Donald, son Mervin of Bend, Oregon, daughter Mrs. Edward (Janet) Rice of Manhattan, Kansas, brother Alfred C. Petersen of Fremont, sisters Myrtle Boschult of Fremont and Mrs. Joe (Ellen) Van Loan of Scottsdale, Arizona, and four grandchildren.
