Burial in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont

Raymond E. Brandt, 81, a Hooper native, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 1999, at his home in Fremont.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Rev. Leland G. Uden officiating.

Visitation continues Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and will continue Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Raymond E. Brandt was born Dec. 26, 1917, in Hooper to Edward and Matilda (Miller) Brandt.

He grew up in the Hooper area and moved to Fremont in 1932.

He worked at the former Auto Electric, Grant Chevrolet, Al Pinper Motors and then for Sid Dillon Olds-Cadillac, all in Fremont as a mechanic and parts manager. He retired in 1982.

He was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fremont, the Fraternal Order of Eagles 200 of Fremont and the Senior Citizens' Bowling League.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Susan Brandt of Wahoo and Dennis and Ellen Brandt of Arlington; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Garry Greenbush of Arlington; two sisters, Marjorie Johnson of Yucaipa, Calif. and Judy (Mrs. Edward) Toledo of Boulder, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ramona Homes; and two grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fremont, the American Cancer Society or Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice Care.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
