Mildred M. Brdicko, 87, of Fremont, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at Tabitha Health Care in Lincoln.

Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 26, at the First Lutheran Church in Fremont with interment in Fremont' s Memorial Cemetery.

Mildred M. Brdicko was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Leigh to Julius and Emma (Reininger) Rahtz. She grew up on the farm.

On Oct. 6, 1936, she married James Brdicko in Leigh. They lived on farms in the Arlington area where Mr. Brdicko worked for area farmers. In 1950, the couple moved to Fremont, where Mr. Brdicko was a mechanic for the John Deere dealership and Mrs. Brdicko worked for Al's Cafe. She also worked for the former Main Street Grocery, Vienna Bakery and the former Kings Food Host, all in Fremont.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and a former member of the Eagles Aerie No. 200 Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, former Fremont and West Point residents Diane "De" and Gary E. Hansen of Lincoln, and son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Joan Marie Brdicko of Sun City, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1975; a son, Gerald; two granddaughters; and a brother and a sister.

A memorial fund is to be established.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
