Margaret Joan Miller Mezoff, 90, died in Elizabethtown, Pa., on June 18, 2018. Mezoff was born in Harrisburg, Pa. on Jan. 13, 1928, to William James Sill Miller and Margaret Mates Miller.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Nordena Wayman, and her beloved husband, Dr. Earl R. Mezoff, the former president of Tusculum College in Tennessee and Dana College in Blair.

As a college president's wife, she was a goodwill ambassador from the college to the community, hosting thousands, both on campus and in the president’s home. She also helped catalogue the rare books collection at Tusculum College. Mezoff was a graduate of Thiel College in Pennsylvania, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and an avid reader and bridge player.

She is survived by her daughters Margaret Holman, Patricia Magoon and son-in-law Peter Magoon.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan’s memory to Thiel College, Greenville, Pa. Arrangements are by Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Elizabethtown, Pa.
