Shirley Eileen (Braesch) Robeson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, florist and friend changed addresses on June 30, 2018, moving to heaven to join her beloved husband, Dick and to spend eternity with her Lord.

Shirley was born on Christmas Eve 1930 at her Grandma Dornacker's home in Bennington. A self-named "Daddy's Girl,” young Shirley enjoyed being outside, following her father around their Waterloo farm.

As a young teen in the early 1940s, Shirley's family moved to the Washington County farm where she would live the rest of her life.

Shirley graduated from Blair High School in 1948. Making and keeping lifelong friendships was Shirley's favor subject. Those cherished friendships lasted a lifetime.

The most important friendship for Shirley would be with Dick, a shy, dark-haired young man from Blair that her father hired to help with farm work. Dick took to farming and to the farmer's daughter. Shirley and Dick were married May 27, 1950.

Dick began farming while Shirley pursued baking, canning, and cooking meals for her family, friends, and farm hands.

Shirley and Dick raised their three children on their farm. In between the many tasks of a busy mother and wife, Shirley found time to pursue her lifelong love of reading and flower gardening.

Once Shirley's family had grown up, Shirley began a new pursuit as a professional florist, beginning in Fremont at Jacob's Floral and later working for Clark Jensen in Blair. Shirley opened Country Gardens in 1985 and continued to create floral arrangements until her retirement in 1998. Flowers from Shirley's shop touched the lives of many Washington County residents.

She is survived by her sons, Clark (Janet) Robeson and Curtis (Daleen) Robeson; grandchildren, Charlie Robeson (special friend, Mel Cusick), Joe (Shannon) Robeson, Shellie (Troy) Thomas, Jill (Marc) Bierbaum, Tyler Robeson, Jonathan (Sheila) McConnell, Jeremiah (Beth) McConnell; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Shirley now joins her lifelong friend and cherished husband, Dick, daughter, Holly Robeson McConnell, infant son, Charles, sister, Donna Rocker, and parents, Hans and Anita Braesch.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Memorial service will be held, Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Country Bible Church in Blair.

Memorials can be directed to Country Bible Church in Blair, Nebraska.
