Services for Fred J. Bremer, 84 of Arlington who died at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont April 22, 1996 are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Michael L. Rogers of St. Paul's Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Fred J. Bremer was born November 30, 1911 in Ravenwood, Missouri. He moved, with his family, to a farm between Fremont and Arlington when he was eight years old.

He farmed between Arlington and Fremont until moving into Arlington in 1952. He operated a trucking and custom farming service until he retired. After retirement, he worked part-time for Flynn & Larsen International for 12 years. He fully retired in 1992.

He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 200 of Fremont.

He married Esther E. Johnson April 15, 1936 at Atlantic, Iowa. She died November 6, 1965.

He later married Eloise Burt. She preceded him in death December 22, 1989.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Dessa Hawk Bremer; a sister, Mayme Chappelear and an infant sister.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Karen Bremer of Arlington; a daughter, Patty Hampton, Hemet, California; stepsons, Robert Burt of Herman and Gary Burt of Springfield, Nebraska; step-daughters, Betty (Mrs. Lyle ) Bohannon of Herman and Beverly Gless and Bonnie Anderson, both of Fremont; a sister-in-law, Agnes Sauers of Fremont; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers are John Delaney, H. "Bud" Gaines, Irvin "George" Haney, Gilbert Hokamp, Ray Hilgenkamp, Wayne Jacobsen, Charles Chappelear and Cory Bremer.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home at Arlington is in charge of arrangements.

ARLINGTON-Fred J. Bremer, 84, of Arlington died Monday, April 22, 1996 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

He was born Nov. 30, 1911, in Ravenwood, Mo. He moved with his family to a farm between Fremont and Arlington when he was 8 years old. He married Esther Johnson April 15, 1935, in Atlantic, Iowa. He farmed between Arlington and Fremont, until moving into Arlington in 1952. Hie wife died Nov. 6, 1965. He later married Eloise Burt. He operated a trucking and custom farming service until he retired. After his retirement, he worked part time for Flynn and Larsen International Trucks for 12 years. His wife, Eloise, died Dec. 22, 1989. He fully retired in 1992.

Bremer was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 200 in Fremont.

Survivors include a son, Steven Bremer of Arlington; a daughter, Peggy Hampton of Hemet, Calif.; two stepsons, Robert Burt of Herman and Gary Burt of Springfield; three stepdaughters, Betty (Mrs. Lyle) Bohannon of Herman, Beverly Gless and Bonnie Anderson, both of Fremont; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He also was preceded in death by a sister and an infant sister.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Michael Rogers will officiate. Visitation is in progress until 9 tonight at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, and one hour prior to Thursday's service at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
