The body of John Tew arrived here last Sunday from Cheyenne, Wyo., in the care of his son Charley and the burial took place on Monday afternoon. Mr. Tew was a resident of this town for many years and his mother and other members of the family are buried here. He had been troubled some with his heart and a doctor told him to go to the hospital where he could have better care. He went there and sometime in the night got up and went out in the yard and fell dead. His body was found there in the morning. His son Charley lives in Grizzly but was in Cheyenne that day so he brought the body here for interment. Mrs. Rice Arnold is a sister of the deceased. #3-1 Aug., 1901 - The Pilot - John W.

John Tew, whose funeral took place in Blair Monday under the direction of the Masonic lodge and who died July 25th, was born at Auburn, New York April 3, 1845, and removed to Calhoun, Nebr. in 1856 coming to Blair in 1869 where he lived until about 1886. His death was the result of heart disease, which has troubled him for several years. His son, Charles, a practicing attorney of Greeley, Colorado, had arrived the night before his father’s death, but owing to the lateness of the hour of his arrival, he did not go up to the house, and thus did not arrive until after his father’s death. Mrs. Tew, on account of sickness, was unable to accompany the body to Blair.
