Obituary:

Edgar B. “Ed” Taylor, 96, of Rapid City, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Rapid City Regional Hospice.

He was born on February 21, 1922 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada to Richard H. and Mable E. (Copeland) Taylor.

Edgar married Audrey E. Darling in Regina, Canada on July 14, 1945. They moved to his family farm outside of Regina where Edgar worked with his father and later built roads with his brothers.

In the summer of 1963, Edgar moved his family to a farm north of Pierre where he partnered with his brother on a farm and trucked. In 1979 they retired, sold the farm and moved to the Black Hills. He and Audrey were very active in the Historical Auto Cub, the Gold Dust Auto Club and the Studebaker Drivers Club and over the years, enjoyed many tours, meetings, gatherings and old friends.

“The most important thing on a tombstone is the DASH between the dates.” Rest in Peace, Dad!

Survivors, who will forever treasure their memories are his daughter, Susan (Andy) Andersen, Rapid City, and their son, Travis (Alicia) Andersen and daughter, Tamy (Gerald) Hauser, all of the Bozeman, MT area, his son, Rick Taylor, Sioux Falls, and his son, Todd (DeNeil) Taylor, Pierre and daughter, Toni (Jason) Durnil, Sioux Falls, five great-grandchildren: Mikey Andersen, Gracelyn, Katelyn and Brooklyn Taylor and Logan Durnil; his brother, Bert, Pierre, his sister, Dorothy, Kuroki, Sask., Canada and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey in 2014, his parents, brothers Clare and Bill, and sister, Betty.

A memorial has been established in Ed’s name.
