Timothy J. Forsberg passed away on June 30, 2018 at his home in Apache Junction, Ariz., after showing all of us how not to quit as he fought a short and hard battle of brain cancer. He was born Aug. 6, 1955, in Blair to John and Ruby.

After graduating Blair High School in 1973, he enlisted in the Army in 1974, where he served eight years as a helicopter mechanic with the A Co, 5th Trans Forces Command out of AFEES in Omaha.

Eventually, he relocated to Arizona to be with family, where he continued his love as a helicopter mechanic while working at Boeing. Soon after, Tim had met many new friends where he found a passion for Sprint Car racing and became a pit crew member for what is now known as Steve Stone Racing. He also found pleasure in boating, country dancing and living life with those he cared for and loved.

Unfortunately, Tim suffered several health issues throughout his life, but that did not stop him from meeting his eternal partner, Linda, who took care of him until the end. During their 15 years together, Tim and Linda married and proudly adopted their precious daughter, Jessica, in 2008.

Tim loved his new extended family and could be found rooting on his granddaughter throughout her years of cheerleading, as well as hooting and hollering for his grandson out on the football field. When he could have visits in person or phone calls with his granddaughters in Ohio, you could see just how happy his heart was through his smile and the twinkle in his eyes.

Tim is survived by his wife, Linda Kent; son, John (Daelynn) Forsberg; granddaughters, Pyper and Quinn; daughter, Jessica; stepdaughter, Elaine (Lance) Bullard and grandchildren Kaylin and Brody; sister, Linda Drenkhahn (Randy) and many other loving relatives.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, John and Ruby (Klindt) Forsberg; brother, Jeffrey; both paternal and maternal grandparents and many other loving relatives.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the VFW Post No. 7968 at 1 p.m. on Aug. 4, 2018.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Wells Fargo under Linda Kent, on behalf of Jessica Forsberg or to the American Brain Cancer Association in honor of Tim.
