Donald Ralph Cain made a peaceful passing to heaven on July 11, 2018, to join his beloved wife, Ruby.

He was born on Dec. 1, 1923, to Clifford Harold and Hazel Irene (Curley) Cain in Tekamah. He attended Crawford grade school and then graduated from Tekamah High School. He was a 70-year Mason and was recently presented the Bronze Jordan Medal for being a Master Mason with the longest period of membership from the George Armstrong Lodge No. 241. Donald married Ruby Fern Kunnemann on June 25, 1955. They made a life on the farm near Arlington, raising their three children. Don was a farmer his entire life. He loved every aspect of farming but mostly harvest. Bringing in the grain after tending to the crops all season was what he looked forward to most. He was fortunate to be able to stay on the farm until the last two-and-a-half years.

Survivors include his son, Robert (Marion) Cain of Dakota City; daughters, Lori Bute of Fremont, Pat (Gerald) Eskilsen of Kennard; sister, Mary Chamberlain of Tekamah; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service and Masonic Service were held, Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Pelan Funeral Services in Tekamah. Burial was Monday July, 16, 2018. Memorials are to the family for a later designation.
