Mike was preceded in death by his father Curtis Eugene Hays; brother Jonathan Curtis Hays; and brother-in-law James Pullman Krueger. Survived by his mother Marjorie Doris Hays of Hastings; sister Patricia Hays of Cheyenne; wife Cheryl Stevens of Papillion; children, Joshua (Shawna) Hays of Lincoln, Nathanael (Sara) Hays of Lincoln, Sara Childers of Omaha; stepchildren Christopher (Jennifer) Chikos of Blair, Heidi (Samuel) Bailey of Lee's Summit, MO; grandchildren, Trenton, Kaitlyn, Grace, Faith, Hailey, Jackson, Madison, Jamison, Thomas, Madeline, Hannah, Eva and Jonah.

Mike was a lifelong learner and teacher. He was passionate about photography and his grandchildren. He was employed by Nebraska Department of Labor as Workforce Development Coordinator for over 25 years, serving in Norfolk, Omaha and Lincoln.

SERVICES will be held April 9th at 1pm at Rejoice Lutheran Church, 2556 S 138th St. Omaha, NE. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flamingos for Hope in c/o Methodist Hospital Foundation.
