Roh, Jr., Joe Jun 16, 1923 - Apr 28, 2016 Age 92 of Tekamah, NE. Survivors include his wife, Alice; son, Joe (Lynn) Roh; daughters, Peggy (Steve) Nelson, Marcia (Thad) Eaton, Christi (Miles) Tommeraasen, Jenifer (Joe) Milone, and Becky (Joe Bacon) Roh; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Father Raymond Roh; numerous nieces and nephews. MEMORIAL SERVICE 10am Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tekamah. MEMORIAL VISITATION Friday, 5:30-7pm with family receiving friends and a VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm, all at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tekamah. Burial: Tekamah Cemetery. "Joe Roh, Jr. was born to Joseph and Mary (Shimerka) Roh on June 16, 1923 in Abie, Nebraska. He passed away on April 28, 2016, in Tekamah, Nebraska at the age of 92.

Joe grew up on a dairy farm in Abie, as one of twelve children, and attended high school in Crete, Nebraska. Joe was united in marriage to Alice Hobza on August 29, 1951, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo, Nebraska. Shortly after, Joe graduated from the University of Nebraska in June of 1953. He and Alice relocated to Broken Bow, Nebraska where he started his career as an assistant county agent. In 1955, Joe became the Burt County Agent and served in this capacity for the next 18 years. He joined the First National Bank in 1972 as an ag loan officer and worked there, off and on, until his retirement in 2012.

Joe was very active in the Tekamah and Burt County communities for a number of years. He enjoyed working with the Burt County Fair Board and was an active Lions Club member. Joe was also an active parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Tekamah, and previously served on the church council.

Joe's love of his family was truly the passion of his life. He would make family gatherings and activities a priority, even up until his last days. His Czech heritage and affection for it were something that he passed along to his children and grandchildren. Joe also loved fishing, gardening, crop touring, and puttering around his vast yard.

Survivors include his wife, Alice; son, Joe (Lynn) Roh; daughters, Peggy (Steve) Nelson, Marcia (Thad) Eaton, Christi (Miles) Tommeraasen, Jenifer (Joe) Milone, and Becky (Joe Bacon) Roh; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Father Raymond Roh; numerous nieces and nephews."
