Edgar Franklin Fassett

Edgar Franklin Fassett was born Erie, Pennsylvania, February 6, 1856 and died August 16, 1917 at his home in Colorado Springs.

Early in life he was apprenticed to learn the printers’ trade which he followed until compelled to give up active participation in the work a few years ago although not until two years ago he relinquished all work in connection with the printing business.

While yet a young man he owned a printing plant in Lockport, N. Y. but sold this and went to Youngstown, Ohio, where he lived until coming to Nebraska in the year 1887. Here he located at Fullerton but remained there but one year when he went to Hickman and bought an office which he conducted until moving to Lincoln in 1893. Here he opened a printing plant the same year he went to the capitol city.

In 1903 during October he came to Arlington and her remained until Jan. 1916 when with Mrs. Fassett he went to Colorado Springs for his health.

When coming to Arlington he consolidated the Review and the Herald establishing what is now the Arlington Review Herald.

He leaves a wife, Mrs. Ella Fassett and four children, Fred L. of Auburn, Dale, of Colorado Springs, Mrs. Schmehl and Mrs. J. L. Andrews of Arlington and two brother, Geo. W. Fassett of Erie, Penn. and Alfred Fassett of Elgin, Ill. And Mrs. Paulina Temple of Toledo, Ohio, a sister and a host of friends to mourn his departure.
