Marcia R. Sondergard, 62, of Fremont, died Friday, July 22, 2011, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.

A celebration service will be Wednesday, July 27, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Fremont. Her guardians, Dr. Bob and Sue Roesch, will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dugan Funeral Chapel.

Marcia Rae Sondergard was born January 5, 1949, in Fremont to Robert and Gloria Sondergard. She was a resident with ENCOR in Blair and Fremont. She worked in housekeeping at the Comfort Inn and later at ENCOR's Industrial Training Center. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and trips with her friends. She was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and active in the Special Classes Sunday School and choir.

She is survived by her sister, Karen Stieren of Lakewood, Colo.; brothers, Michael and Roger Sondergard of Grand Junction, Colo.; longtime roommate, Rhonda Hoback; and guardians, Dr. Bob and Sue Roesch of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be directed to St. Timothy Special Classes.
