Almon Brewster was born Nov. 5, 1833, at South Fayette, Carl County, Ohio, and was married to Nancy Thomas at Potosin, Wis., Dec. 22, 1854.

To this union seven children were born-two daughters and five sons, all of whom survive him. In the year 1857 they came to Nebraska and settled at Kennard, Washington county. He served an enlistment in Troop B, Second Nebraska Calvary during the civil war with the Rank Corporal. His health failing he went to Placervill, California, where he died Oct. 17, 1912, aged 78 years, 11 month and 12 days.

The children are: Orlando of Illinois, Z. Brewster living in Oklahoma, Isaac B. living at Placerville, California, Alvin also of Placerville, Cal., and Calvin of Kennard; Mrs. Anna Stewart of Walthill, Neb., and Mrs. Siddie Dulany of Marshall, Ill.; also a brother living in Denver, Colo.

He was buried in the Kennard cemetery under the auspices of the Masonic order.
