Louis (Lewis) W. Dulaney passed away yesterday morning after suffering the past three years with a bone tumor. He had done everything known to medical science but it was all of no avail. He was operated upon three times by the Mayo brother’s in Rochester, Minn., but the disease progressed right along, death resulting from hemorrhages of the jugular vein.

The funeral will be held at 2 o’clock tomorrow, Thursday afternoon at the Baptist Church, Rev. C. M. Foreman officiating. Deceased was born in Flora, Lake County, Ill., Sept 17th, 1856, and was therefore just past 65 years of age. He came to Blair with his parents when he was about 15 years of age and this was his home for just 50 years. He was married to Miss Susan Turner in 1877, and five children were born to them, one son, Frank, died in infancy. The surviving are Thomas, of Greenfield, Ia., Mabel, Mrs. Elton Booth, of this city, Don, D., of Casper, Wyo., Ina, Mrs. Robert Sprecker, of Los Angeles, Calif. Two brothers survive him also, Sam, of McCook, Neb. and Joe, of Detroit, Michigan.

LOU DULANEY PASSES AWAY

Louis W. Dulaney, one of the old landmarks of Blair, passed away at his home in this city on Tuesday morning, Oct. 18.

He had suffered for the past three years with a bone tumor which refused to yield to medical treatment. He submitted to three operations at the hands of the noted Mayo Brothers of Rochester, Minn., but failed to obtain relief.

Mr. Dulaney was one of a family of early settlers here, and had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who will grieve at his departure. He was a pleasant gentleman to meet and loyal to his friends.

The funeral services are to be held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Baptist church. Rev. Foreman will officiate.

Deceased was a native of Illinois, being born there Sept. 17, 1856. At the age of 15 years he came to this city with his parents and since that time has continuously made this his home. In 1877 he was married to Miss Susan Turner, and to them five children were born, one dying in infancy. The surviving children are: Thomas of Greenfield, Iowa; Mrs. Elton Booth of this city; Don of Casper, Wyo.; and Mrs. Robert Sprecher of Los Angeles, Cal. Also three brothers survive him: John of this city; Sam of McCook, Nebr.; and Joe of Detroit, Michigan.

L. W. DULANY HAS PASSED TO THE GREAT BEYOND

Lou W. Dulany passed away on the 18th inst. at his home in this city after months of suffering from that dread disease cancer, aged 65 years, 1 month and 1 day.

Mr. Dulany was born at Flora, Ill. in 1865, and when about fifteen years of age came to Blair where he has since made his home. In 1878 he was married to Susan Turner, who survives him, and five children were born to them, four of whom are still living. They are Thomas C. Dulany of Greenfield, Iowa; Donald Dulany, Casper, Wyo.; Mrs. Elton Booth, Blair; and Mrs. Ina Sprecker of Los Angeles, Calif. Two brothers, Sam Dulany of McCook, Nebr.; and Joe Dulany of Detroit, Mich. also survive him.

The deceased has been identified with the interests of Blair for the past fifty years, a man who was much liked and a friend to everyone. For several years he has fought the ravages of cancer, but for the past year he realized that it would eventually cause his death.

The funeral was held today - Thursday - at the Baptist church of which he had long been a member, Rev. C. M. Foreman preaching the funeral discourse, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
