The remains of Grandmother Wilhelmina Lallman were laid to rest on Friday afternoon beside those of her husband in family lot in the local Lutheran cemetery. A large number of relatives and friends were in attendance to pay a last tribute of respect to one of our pioneer settlers. She spent the greater part of the late years of her life in Colorado where several of her children reside. Rev. F. C. Schuldt conducted the funeral service and several members of the choir furnished the music. The local pallbearers were H. H. Niebaum, A. W. Sprick, H. S. Monke, W. H. Welkamp, Wm. Wilkening and Otto A. Langhorst.

PASSING OF ANOTHER PIONEER SETTLER OF COUNTY

Mrs. Fred Lallman, a pioneer settler of the Fontanelle neighborhood of Washington county, died Monday morning at Grand Junction, Colo. after an illness of several weeks.

Wilhelmina Gnuse was born in Germany February 17, 1847, and was united in marriage to Fred Lallman at Belafelt, Germany in 1863, and two years later they came to this country, settling at Quincy, Ill. After a residence there of two years, they decided to join the Quincy colony of Germans in Washington county and took up land near Fontanelle. Like the other pioneers in that settled community, they were very thrifty and hard working.

Mr. Lallman died in 1908, and two years later Mrs. Lallman removed to Grand Junction, Colo. on account of the health of two of the children, and at the time of her death was making her home with her daughter, Mrs. George Phinney and son, Herman.

She is survived by seven children, Henry Lallman, Arlington; Mrs. J. H. Godel, Fremont; Will Lallman, Arlington; Fred and Herman Lallman and Mrs. George Phinney, Grand Junction, Colo.; and Ed Lallman, Fremont. She also leaves a brother, Wm. Gnuse of Fremont and a sister, Mrs. Herman Scheer of Fontanelle.

The body was taken to Fontanelle for burial, the funeral being held at the German Lutheran church with Rev. Schuldt officiating.
