Mrs. Frank H. Gossard died very suddenly at the home of her brother, L. M. Dawson, in Madison, Neb., last Thursday of blood poisoning, caused from a small scratch on her finger. Her home was in Columbus, Neb. The body was brought here Monday for burial, other members of the family being buried here. Jennie B. Dawson was born at Wauwatosa, Wis., October 19th, 1857, and was, therefore, past 63 years of age. She came to this state when a girl, with her parents and was married here to Frank H. Gossard in 1881. They made their home here for a time, later moving to Craig and eleven years ago moved to Columbus, Neb. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Miss Ethel Gossard and Mrs. Marie Biegutz, both of Columbus, and three sons, Carl and Earl, of Council Bluffs, Ia., Ralph, of Eureka, Calif. Also one brother, I. M. Dawson, of Madison, Neb., and one sister, Mrs. E. N. Bradley, of Duluth, Minn., and three grandchildren.

FORMER BLAIR WOMAN BURIED HERE

The funeral of Mrs. Frank Gossard of Columbus, Neb. was held Monday morning, April 5, the body being brought in on the train from the west and the relatives and friends going directly to the cemetery with the remains.

Mrs. Frank Gossard, whose maiden name was Jennie B. Dawson, was born Oct. 19, 1857 at Wauwatosa, Wis., and died March 31, 1921 at Columbus, Neb. at the age of 63 years, 5 months and 12 days.

She came with her parents to Nebraska when a girl and was married to F. H. Gossard at a country church near Blair, Neb. in 1881. The family made their home near Blair for a number of years, and have since lived at Craig, Neb., going to Columbus about eleven years ago.

She suffered a slight scratch on her hand a few days ago, and this resulted in blood poisoning causing sudden death.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Miss Ethel and Mrs. Marie Biergutz, both of Columbus and three sons, Carl ad Earl of Council Bluffs, Ia., and Ralph of Eureka, Cal. There are also left one brother, Mr. I. M. Dawson of Madison, Neb. and one sister, Mrs. E. N. Bradley of Duluth, Minn. and three grandchildren.

Rev. Foreman of the Baptist church conducted the services at the cemetery.

The older residents of this community remember well the Dawsons when they lived in and around Blair.

Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Bradley built what is now known as the Cruickshank home in west Blair, and Mr. Bradley was associated with the Crowell Lumber and Grain Co. Mrs. Bradley has the honor of being the only woman to serve on the Blair school board.

Mr. I. M. Dawson for a number of years was connected with the T. C. Hilton Millinery establishment, and was well and favorably known here at that time.

The deceased married and lived away from Blair, but has many friends here who remember her well, and regret to learn of her sudden death. She was a kind and loving mother, a good neighbor and a loyal friend.

Relatives and friends in attendance at the funeral were the children of the deceased, the brother, I. M. Dawson and wife of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Adams and daughter, Beulah and Miss Cara Clark of Omaha, John and Tom Gossard and a number of other relatives whose names we did not learn.

FORMER BLAIR LADY PASSES AWAY - BURIED HERE MONDAY

Mrs. F. H. Gossard died at her home in Columbus Thursday, March 31, aged 65 years, 5 months and 12 days.

Jennie B. Dawson was born in Wauwatosa, Wis. October 19, 1857. She came to Nebraska when a young girl and in 1881 was married to F. H. Gossard in a country church near Blair. She was a resident of Blair for many years, afterwards removing to Craig and about eleven years ago moved from there to Columbus which has since been her home.

Some time ago she received a slight scratch on the hand causing blood poisoning, which resulted in her death. The body was brought here on Monday, the funeral conducted by Rev. C. M. Foreman, and burial took place in the family lot in the Blair cemetery.

Mrs. Gossard is survived by her husband, three sons, Carl and Earl of Council Bluffs and Ralph of Eureka, California. There is also one brother, J. M. Dawson of Madison, Nebr. and one sister, Mrs. E. N. Bradley of Duluth, Minn. and three grandchildren.
