Sealey, of the Congregational Church officiating. Mrs. Gustason suffered a paralytic stroke at her farm home near Hooper about three months ago and never recovered from it. She improved slightly and was able to be brought over here on Decoration Day, but she gradually grew weaker until the end was near Wednesday that Arthur was called over from his farm work. The family was all with her when the end came. She was conscious to the very last breath she drew.

Jessie Campbell Rodgers was born in this city December 1st, 1894, and was, therefore but 26 years of age last December. Her mother died when she was but a little girl. She grew to womanhood and was educated largely in Fremont, attending both high school and a business college.

She was married to Arthur Gustason in Sioux City, January 4th, 1915, and three children were born to them, Jane Louise, Jessie Maxine and William James, the youngest but ten months old.

The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of their many friends. Mrs. and Mrs. Peter McWee, came all the way from Monongahela, Pa., to attend the funeral service. Also Mrs. A. K. Anderson, from Wisner, Mrs. Marshall Wilcox from Craig, J. A. Petersen and family from Arlington, John Skinner and wife, from Herman and all of Arthur’s neighbors on the farm near Hooper drove about fifty miles to attend the funeral service, which show something of the love and esteem in which Mrs. Gustason was held. The pallbearers were John Skinner, John Reeh, Clifford Redfield, Leslie Offen, Henry Ladwig and Ron McKeen.

MRS. ARTHUR GUSTASON DIES AT THE HOME OF HER FATHER

Mrs. Arthur Gustason, nee Jessie Rodgers, answered the final summons on Thursday night, and her spirit took its flight to realms beyond.

Jessie Rodgers was born in Blair twenty six years ago, and was practically reared here. She was married at the age of twenty to Arthur Gustason. She was the mother of three children, James, aged 5; Maxine, 3; and William, 1.

Several months ago Mrs. Gustason suffered an attack of influenza and her death was the result of complications arising from the malady. At the time of her illness she was living on a farm near Hooper, but was brought to the home of her father, William Rodgers, for treatment. As she apparently grew better she returned to her home and family, but immediately suffered a relapse and at once came back to Blair. Her constitution was not sufficiently strong to withstand the complications that set in, and she passed away in her childhood home, surrounded by her loved ones. Besides her parents, husband and children, there survives her a sister, Mrs. Gus Marquardt of Fremont, and several step sisters and brothers in Blair.

The funeral was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Rodgers on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Sealey, pastor of the Blair Congregational church, and burial was made in the Blair cemetery.
