Mrs. Anna Maria Steffensen died at the home of her son, Steffen Steffensen, in Washington, at 12:30 last Friday of old age, she being 75 years, 2 months and 21 days old. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, Rev. J. Rasmussen officiating. A short service was held at the house and the principal services at the church in Washington. The music was furnished by a quartette from this city, Miss Ethel Mead Mary Cook and Dr. C. R Mead and the Pilot Editor, Mrs. Edna accompanist. Mrs. Steffensen was born in Denmark and came to this country in 1870. She was married to Andrew L. Steffensen in 1872. Eight children were born to them, but three of whom are now living, Steffen of Washington, Iller, of Hastings, and Mrs. Christoffer Sorensen of Viborg, S.D. They lived in Omaha for a time, later moving onto Pleasant Valley farm Douglas County. Mrs. Steffensen had made her home with her son, Steffen, and family in Washington. Deceased was an aunt of Miller and Louie Munk, of the city.
