Cleo Emmet Misner was born June 20th, 1905, at Harvard, Nebr. His mother and an older brother, Ernest, were burned to death when he was only a year old, by explosion of a gasoline stove. He was cared for by an aunt, Mrs. H. S. Sander, of Beatrice, until a couple of years ago when he went to make his home with his father, Wm. Misner, of McCook, Nebr.

Cleo met his death by drowning near McCook at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon, July 24, 1921, aged 16 years, 1 month and 4 days. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in McCook Monday afternoon and the body was brought to Blair yesterday and taken to the home of his grandmother, Mrs. E. J. Mundorf. A short service was conducted by Rev. C. M. Foreman at 9 o’clock this Wednesday morning and he was laid to rest by the side of his mother and brother in the Herman Cemetery. Those from a distance attending the funeral were the father, Wm. Misner and wife of McCook, George Misner, Harvard, Nebr., Mrs. H. M. Misner and son, Ernest, of Omaha, Mrs. Oscar F. Johnson, Missouri Valley, Ia., H. S. Sander and wife, of Beatrice, Neb., and Mrs. Victor Stewart, of Beatrice, Neb.

BOY DROWNS AT McCOOK FUNERAL HELD IN BLAIR

Cleo Meissner met death by drowning in a river near McCook last Sunday afternoon at the age of 17 years. He was born in Harvard, Nebr. June 20, 1905. When he was only one year old his mother and an elder brother were burned to death by a gasoline explosion. An aunt, Mrs. H. S. Souders of Beatrice reared him to young manhood, and two years ago he went to McCook to live with his father, who had remarried.

After the funeral services in the Christian church at McCook Monday, the body was brought to Blair to the home of his grandmother, Mrs. E. J. Mundorf, where Rev. C. M. Foreman of the Baptist church conducted the funeral obsequies at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning, and he was laid to rest by the side of his mother and brother in the cemetery at Herman.

Those who attended the funeral from out of town were: the bereaved father, Wm. Eisner and wife of McCook, George Misner, Harvard; Mrs. H. M. Misner and son, Ernest, Omaha; Mrs. Oscar F. Johnson, Oakland; Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Souders, Beatrice and Mrs. A. C. Johnson, Missouri Valley.
