BREWSTER BROTHERS DIE IN CAMPER IN COLORADO

FORMER BLAIR MEN ASPHYXIATED WHILE ON MOUNTAIN TRIP

Two one-time Blair men who are known to many of the older residents of the community, met their deaths from asphyxiation while on a trip into the mountains near Denver last week.

Pearl Brewster, and Orlo LeRoy Brewster, who carried the nickname "Bud", both died some time Wednesday night while sleeping in a camper in the mountains near Leadville, Colorado.

Pearl, who is a retired truck, driver, lived at Arvada , Colorado and Orlo, who was a heavy equipment operator, lived at Golden, Colorado. The men had an interest in a mine in the Leadville vicinity and they were making an overnight trip on business. They were supposed to return home Thursday but did not and a search was made for them Friday. They were found in their camper, both dead of monoxide poisoning. Investigation revealed that they had left a stove and gas lantern turned low and death was attributed to gas generated by these units.

Orlo LeRoy Brewster was born at Kennard January 16, 1902 and was 70 years of age. He had been a heavy equipment operator of draglines, Caterpillar tractors and similar machinery all of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Elfiriede and by a son, George LeRoy Brewster of Los Angeles, California.

Pearl Orville Brewster was also born at Kennard but on April 3, 1908. He was 64. He was a retired truck driver. He is survived by his wife, Vera, and by a son, Richard of Wheatridge, Colorado.

The men had two sisters, Mrs. Calvin Cole of Blair and Mrs. Ella Sue Massau, of San Bernardino, California.

Double funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Charles Gates conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers for both men were George Lantry, Russell Poulson, George Ryan, Robert Wulf, Keith McManigal and Joe McManigal.
