Edgar J. Flora, Sr., 76

Services for Edgar J. Flora Sr., age 76 of Blair, who died at his home in Lakeland Estates April 6, 1995, were Monday, April 10, at the Country Bible Church in Blair. Burial was in Branson Cemetery, near Loveland, Iowa.

Edgar J. Flora was born January 22, 1919, in Linwood, Nebraska, to Louis C. and Effie Mae Mattison Flora. He attended school in Linwood and served in the Army during World War II.

On March 3, 1945, he married Frances Ray.

They lived in Jefferson City, Missouri, where he worked as a truck driver and was also a supervisor for a trucking company. They moved to Omaha in 1954, where he worked until retiring in 1984.

After his retirement, they moved to Lakeland Estates near Blair. He then worked for the Nebraska School for the Deaf, ENCOR, for whom he drove residents to their jobs, and Dana College.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Frances of Blair; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Mary Flora of Blair; Clyde and LeAnn Flora of California, Missouri, and Edgar and Diane Flora, Jr. of Glenwood, Iowa, five daughters and sons-in-laws, Carol and Jerry Nath of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Donna and Randall Davis, Joyce and Richard Wojtkiewicz, Rhonda Braun and Linda and Robert Shook, all of Omaha, Nebraska; 23 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one brother, Raymond Flora of Omaha.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
