John "Quincy" Bridwell, 89, of Tekamah died Thursday morning, January 21, 1988, at the Tekamah Senior Citizens Home.

He was born on October 22, 1898, at Mitchell, Indiana, to Otis and Sally (Deaver) Bridwell.

Quincy moved to Tekamah in February, 1920, and was united in marriage to Edith Ray on July 18, 1931 at Blair. The couple moved to Omaha in 1943, where Quincy worked at the Omaha Stockyards until 1969, when he retired and moved back to Tekamah.

After returning to Tekamah, he drove truck and did farm work, in the area.

Survivors include his wife, Edith P. Bridwell of Tekamah; one daughter, Alyce J. Mudra of Omaha; one son, Alan W. Bridwell of Alexandria, Virginia; one brother, Harlan Bridwell of Bakersfield, California; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, January 23, 1988, at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah with Rev. Thomas E. Robson officiating.

Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
