BROTHER OF ARLINGTONITE DIED IN OREGON

Herbert G. Briggs, 75, a retired brick mason formerly of Hooper and Fremont, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning in Portland, Oregon, where he was living.

Mr. Briggs was born on September 10, 1904, in Hooper and lived there for 30 years. He spent five years in Fremont and five years in Omaha before moving to California for 34 years. Last year he moved to Portland. He was a member of the brick masons' union and the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jack R. (Laurene) Kirby of Atlantic, Iowa, and Mrs. Kenneth (Vivian) Iske of Omaha; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence of Lincoln and Earl of Hooper; and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Eggers of Olympia, Wash., and Mrs. Herman (Fern) Moseman of Arlington.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Warne Funeral Home in Hooper. The Rev. Alex Walker will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Burial was in Hooper Cemetery.
