Charlotte Elaine (Rhoades) Gilinski, age 89, passed away Aug. 11, 2018, at Silver Crest Senior Residence in Escondido, Calif.

Charlotte was born to Lucille (Jensen) and J. Hilton Rhoades on July 29, 1929. She graduated from Blair High School in 1946 and graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1950.

Charlotte moved to California in 1952 where she taught school and earned her doctorate degree. She was married to Dean Morrison in 1953. They later divorced.

Charlotte established The Rhoades School in Encinitas, Calif. The school is the only private school designed specifically for gifted students in San Diego County.

Charlotte leaves daughter, Ann Morrison of Encinitas; son, Brian Morrison of Ferndale, Calif.; brother, Ken (Ginny) Rhoades of Blair; nephew, Mark Rhoades of Blair; niece, Candy Suverkrubbe of Blair; niece, Penny Overmann of Elkhorn; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside services will be at a later date.
