Mr. Druppel, from St. Bernard, Nebr., was in attendance at the funeral of our old friend, Fritz Misfeldt. He is a brother of Mrs. Fritz Misfeldt.

On last Thursday morning at 3 o’clock Mr. Fritz Misfeldt died after a lingering illness of about three or four years from senility and the effect of being overheated. Deceased was seventy-five years of age. His sons, William and Charles of Winside, were down to attend the funeral on last Sunday at 2 o’clock from the house, Rev. Lambrecht, of Blair, officiating. Burial in the Kennard Cemetery.

Mr. Misfeldt was born in Germany and came to America when he was a young man, settling in Richland Township where he has lived for a great many years. He was well liked and highly respected by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn his death. Ye scribe with the entire community extend their sympathy.

Fritz Misfeldt, Sr., who has been so sick for the past month and in failing health for the last year, passed away early Friday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas French. Mr. Misfeldt was born in Germany Jan. 1, 1843, and fell asleep in Jesus, June 21, 1918 at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 21 days. He was confirmed in the German Lutheran church at the age of 16. He came to America when 18 years of age, settling first at Davenport, Iowa, later coming to Nebraska, 45 years being spent in Washington county. He was married to Miss Bertha Horst in 1872, she dying six years later, leaving five children. Dec. 9, 1880, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Elizabeth Riuchen, who with six children, is left to mourn a loving husband and father’s death. Mr. Misfeldt left two step children, Chas of Winside, and Mrs. Thomas French of Kennard; eight children, Mrs. J.C. Rhea of Arlington, Mrs. Ray Brown of Elgin, Mrs. Leon Hitchcock of Benson, Mrs. Annie Schlapkohl of Brunswick, Henry of Washington, Will of Winside, Mrs. Meta Arp and Fred at Kennard. He has 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Misfeldt was a kindly old man, beloved by all who knew him. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the family.
