Emma Nelson, the fifteen-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Nelson of Fort Calhoun Township, passed away at the home of her parents on last Wednesday afternoon as the result of an attack of pneumonia.

She was the only daughter and the grief stricken paretns have the sympathy of a large circle of friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services were held on last Friday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church in Calhoun. The high school, of which she was a member, was dismissed that her classmates might join the cememonies.

The community was shocked by the sudden death of Miss Emma Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Nelson, living south of town, on Wednesday afternoon. She had been attending high school here and had been sick but a few days. She was loved by all who knew her. The funeral was held at the Presbyterian Church, Friday afternoon. The school was dismissed for the afternoon out of respect for the beloved member. Interment was made in the Calhoun Cemetery.
