C.A. BECK DIES AT HERMAN FRIDAY

Funeral services for Christian Andersen Beck, 78, of Herman, who died last Friday, were held Sunday at Herman.

Born in Snarup, Fyn, Denmark, September 2, 1855, Mr. Beck had resided there until he was 27 years old. He served the compulsory two-year term in the Danish army before coming to the United States.

In 1882 he reached Omaha, Neb., where he stayed for about ten years, during which time he was employed by the Union Pacific railroad. In the spring of 1892 he was married to Miss Charlotte Therkildsen, who had also come over from Denmark. The newlyweds moved to a farm near Herman, where he had resided for the past forty years.

Left to mourn his departure is one son, Andrew F. Beck, who lived with him on the farm. Two nephews of Mr. Beck, living in California, also survive.

CARD OF THANKS

I desire by this means to show my appreciation for the kind deeds and words of sympathy shown to me during the illness and after the death of my dear father. I wish especially to thank the ministers, the singers, and those who sent the beautiful floral offerings.

Andrew F. Beck
