Her husband, who died just six months ago, retired from his life work as a surveyor in 1931, after having been county surveyor of Washington county for 45 years. He had also been town lot surveyor for the Chicago & Northwestern railway for more than half a century, and had laid out the following towns: in Nebraska, Bennington and Washington; in South Dakota, Belle Fourche and most of Hot Springs; in Iowa, Craig and Brunsville; in Wyoming, VanTassel, Wolton, Cadoma and Moneta.

The Hills had lived continuously in their home at Second and Colfax streets for over 50 years. Mrs. Hill had lived in Blair for 60 years.

Surviving Mrs. Hill are three daughters, Grace and Blanche of Blair; Ella, a teacher in the Omaha schools; two sisters, Lavina Wentworth and Mrs. Julia McCulley, both of Mena, Arkansas; and one brother, Artice Wentworth, also of Mena.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the residence, with Rev. A.F. Newell of the Congregational church officiating. The house was filled with long-time friends of Mrs. Hill. Among those present from out of town were J. B. Adams, formerly of Blair but now of Omaha, and Mrs. O.O. Hammang of Arlington.

Burial was in the Blair cemetery.
