Mrs. John F. Schenck died at the home of her sons, William and Louis, on the farm south of town, at 6:20 Sunday evening of Bright’s Disease and dropsy, having been ill most of the winter. The funeral was held at the farm home at 2 o’clock yesterday, Rev. Underwood officiating. was born in Stuttgart, Württemberg, Germany, May 27th, 1845, and was, therefore, almost 74 years of age at the time of her death. When four years of age her parents came to this country, settling first a Philadelphia. Later they moved to Allentown, Pa., where she was married to John Frederick Schenck in 1868. They settled upon a homestead near Yankton, S. D., coming to this county in 1882 and locating on the farm south of Blair where death found her. Three children were born to them, William, Louis and Mrs. Joseph L. Donnelly, of Ft. Shaw, Montana. Mrs. Donnelly wasn’t able to come for the funeral. She also leaves eight grandchildren. Mr. Schenck died in 1895. Mrs. Schenck was confirmed in the Lutheran Church when a child and had always lived a dutiful and serviceable Christian life.
