Mrs. Martha Solviken died at home of Mrs. George Christ near Craig last Thursday and the body was brought down here Friday evening for burial on Saturday in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. A. R. Jones, of the Congregational Church, officiated. Martha Olsen, or Olsdotter, was born in Wermland, (Varmland) Sweden, May 3rd, 1829 and was, therefore, just past 90 years of age. She emigrated to this county in1860 and settled at Florence, Nebraska. Later she lived at Bellevue and Plattsmouth, coming to this county in 1876. On March 3, 1872, at Plattsmouth, she was united in marriage to G. A. Solviken and one daughter was born to them, who passed away at the age of two years. They settled on a farm near Rose Hill, where Mr. Solviken died April 9, 1903. They only living relative in this country, so far as is known, is a niece, her sister’s daughter, Miss Christine Oser, who now lives in Omaha. Last month her old friends and neighbors of the Rose Hill neighborhood gave her a party on her 90th birthday that she very much enjoyed.
