Anna Catherina (Jessen) Ulrichsen

Published in the Tribune October 24, 1918

Great Grandma Ulrichsen, who died at the farm of her son-in-law, Paul Nelson, October 9, 1918, was 90 years old, and has been married to her Danish soldier husband 62 years. Often when we visited at the Nelson home the dear old lady has reminded me of my foster grandmother in England, who also lived 90 years. She left her husband, one son at Alamine, Kansas, and one in Alma, Nebraska, and Mrs. Paul Nelson, who were here at the funeral. Also, two of her grandsons, Edward and Frank, who came from Holt County. Her other grandson, Arthur, is reported sick at Ft. Riley. The funeral was at Forest Lawn, Douglas County, on account of Nicholas Rix funeral two miles away the same afternoon we were unable to attend. We knew all her children and grandchildren, and we are glad to say there is not one of them but what she could be prouder of. A large attendance is reported from Omaha and surrounding country. Rev. Wilson, of Omaha preached the sermon and the Coffman Sunday School choir furnished the music. The dear old lady will be sadly missed by her friends and neighbors. W. H. Woods

Find a Grave Memorial#176001033 has her death date as October 10, 1918
