Cecelie (Horn) Vogt

Published in the Enterprise August 1, 1919

Mrs. John Vogt of the Blair vicinity committed suicide last Saturday evening by jumping into a large cistern or supply tank at her home. She had suffered an attack of influenza last winter and over work through the hot summer months is thought to have unbalanced her mentally for the time.

Miss Cecelie Horn was born in Germany, January 25, 1865 and was therefore past 54 years of age at the time of her death.

She was married at Blair in 1888, nine children were born, seven of whom with her husband survive.

The children are Maggie, now Mrs. Wm. Wulbern, Helene, now Mrs. Chris Jahnel, Amanda, now Mrs. Louie Lauritsen, Hans H. John A., Marie and Wm. G.

Funeral services were held from the German Lutheran Church in Blair last Monday afternoon and many friends and neighbors attended, thus showing their respect and sympathy for the bereaved family.

Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
