At the battle of Cedar Creek, Virginia, when Phil Sheridan and Jubal Early locked horns, B. Wild, of this city was First Sergeant of Co. Q 2nd Mass. Cavalry, and his horse was killed with a cannon ball which passed clear through him and hurt Mr. Wild’s right knee so badly that ever since it has been partially useless. Recently the U.S. Surgeon General has furnished him with a set of jointed steel braces padded to prevent chafing.
