Former Arlington resident Dorothy E. Brokaw, 88, of Fremont, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, in Fremont.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Interment will be at a later date in Prospect View Cemetery in Pierce.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, all at the funeral home.

Dorothy E. Sexton was born April 6, 1920, in Osmond to John and Hattie (Hartman) Sexton. She grew up at Osmond, and later lived in Beemer, where she taught school until moving to Stanton in 1949.

On March 19, 1949, she married Carl H. Brokaw in Stanton. The couple moved to Fontanelle, and lived there until moving to Arlington in 1978. Mrs. Brokaw was employed as a bookkeeper at Fontanelle Hybrids in Fontanelle for 20 years.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Winnie Brokaw of Arlington; daughter, Lenice Carr of Fremont; son-in-law, Robert Carr of Fremont; eight grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in June of 2000; an infant daughter; brother, Earl Sexton; two sisters, Verna Sexton and Evelyn Hall; grandson, Randy Brokaw; great-grandson, Josh Haase; nephew, Richard Jones.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department or the Arlington Swimming Pool Fund.
