Donald C. Adamson, 79, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at his home in Blair.

Memorial services were held April 24 at First Lutheran Church in Blair, with military honors. Interment was at Looking Glass Cemetery near Newman Grove.

Donald Carl Lewis Adamson was born February 2, 1930 on a farm near Newman Grove. He graduated from Newman Grove High School in 1948. He was employed at the Newman Grove Creamery until he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951, serving until 1955.

On April 14, 1951, he married Neva Olson.

The couple moved to California where Mr. Adamson worked for United Parcel Service during his college years. In 1959, he graduated from San Jose State University and went on to teach business classes at the secondary level for over 25 years.

In the 1990s, the couple retired and returned to Nebraska, where Mr. Adamson enjoyed working in the outdoors and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Neva; son and daughter-in-law Thane and Brenda Adamson; daughters and sons-in-law Kari and Keith Miles, Nancy Taylor and Juan Ceja; five grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters.
