Helen A. Brown,93, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at her home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Helen A. Berg was born Aug. 14, 1914, in Fairfax, S.D., to Christopher and Margaret (Guthmiller) Berg. She graduated from Fairfax High School.

On Aug. 19, 1955, she married Ralph J. Brown in Sarpy County. She lived in Fremont from 1943 until 1963, and the couple has lived in Blair since that time.

Mrs. Brown worked at Verbin, JC Penney, and Sears for 18 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a great cook, loved crafts, including painting pictures and ceramics. She loved putting together puzzles, crocheting, and playing cards with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph; daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Bill Rasmussen of Blair; son, Bob Jewell of Onawa, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Jan Jewell of Trivoli, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jerry; son, Donald; and grandson, Chip Jewell.
