Alan James Schjodt, 66, of Blair, passed away Oct. 4, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

The Celebration of Life service were held Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Master, 2617 S 114th St. Omaha. Burial preceded the service at 9 a.m. at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Alan was born on June 1, 1952, in Omaha. He is the son of Harald and Rhoda Schjodt. He grew up on the family farm west of Blair and attended Sutherland Country School before graduating from Blair High School in 1970. Alan attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney and Dana College in Blair.

Alan farmed west of Blair for many years. He later worked for Greenwood Farms and most recently worked for Woodhouse Auto Family, retiring in 2018.

He was very active in church, serving as director of Christian Education, Sunday school teacher, superintendent, church council member, usher and choir member. He was also a 4-H Leader, a member of Pork Producers and a member of the Blair-area choral octet, Just Friends.

Alan is survived by his wife, Debbie (Petersen) Schjodt of Blair; children, Kraig (Katharine) Schjodt of Omaha and Kirk Schjodt of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Connor and Caden Schjodt; mother, Rhoda Schjodt of Fort Calhoun; brother, Lyle (Kay) Schjodt of Blair; sisters, Sondra (Mark) Buell of Murdock, Kay Lynne (Mark) Dickinson of Blair, Sharla (Paul) Gosker of Blair, Sharie (Doug) Jenson of Sioux Falls, SD; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Alan was preceded in death by his father Harald Schjodt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Lutheran Church of the Master in Omaha or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
