Casey John McGuire, 27, of Blair, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at his home following a sixteen month hard-fought battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. Casey was born on Aug. 18, 1991, in Winner, S.D., to Brian McGuire and Teresa (Millian) Schakat.

He attended schools in Fremont, Benson at Omaha, and graduated from Blair High School. He was a wrestler in school and loved teaching wrestling moves to his brother. He had been employed at Cargill and Railserve in Blair. He moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., and was employed by Ellis and Eastern before his death. He enjoyed the Philadelphia Eagles, Husker football, MMA fights, fishing, his cat Milo, being with friends, but most important was his great love for his son, Harrison.

Casey is survived by his son, Harrison Buccholtz of Yankton, S.D.; parents, Teresa and Tim Schakat of Blair; sister, Abbigail Schakat of Blair; brother, Tristin Schakat of Blair; grandparents, Frank and Janell Millian of Winner, S.D.; aunts and uncles, Deb (Doug) Womeldorf of Fremont, Mark (Christina) Millian of Lincoln, NE, Christina Millian of Winner, SD, Vicki (Matt) Lindell of Omaha, Nicole (Dwayne) Moellenbeck of Canada and Amber Millian of Winner; best friend and cousin, Larry Ferguson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; best friend, Zach Murphy of Blair; father, Brian McGuire of Omaha; grandmother, Jutta (Paul) Musselwhite, aunt, Sandy Black and uncle, Mark McGuire all of Elizabethtown, Ky.; three great-aunts; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Hap and Irene Hermann and Lucy and Frank Millian; great-grandfather, Fred Reed; and cousin, Neveah Alexandra Campos.

Funeral service will be 10:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, the Rev. David Ettinger will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
