Survived by daughter, Linda and husband Larry Brostad of South Sioux City; two grandsons: Greg of Sioux City, IA; and Larry R and wife Sharon of West Chester, OH; two great-grandchildren, Deborah and Dean; sisters, Mildred Kruse of Blair, Judy Rosenbaum of Sidney, NE; many nieces, nephews, and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, October 25, 2018, at 10:30am at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard. Burial will follow in the Kennard Cemetery. Helen L. Kruse, age 93 of Blair passed away October 21, 2018.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard. Burial will follow in the Kennard Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 24, from 6 to 8 PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home.

Helen K. Kruse was born August 4, 1925 in Kennard, Nebraska to Glen and Nina Rosenbaum. She was baptized and confirmed at the Kennard United Methodist Church. Helen attended Kennard School and graduated high school in 1942. After graduation she went to work at Union Pacific Rail Road. She was a farmer’s wife, marrying Elvin Kruse on June 3, 1945 in Kennard, NE. They lived on a farm near the Dornacher school in Washington County. In later years Helen worked at the Nutrition site in Bennington, NE.

Helen was active with the Cozy Corner Extension Club, a 4-H leader, served on many committees at her church and the ladies’ groups, was a member of the RNA and American Legion Auxiliary. She and Elvin also enjoyed dancing and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Linda and husband Larry Brostad of South Sioux City; two grandsons: Greg of Sioux City, IA and Larry R and wife Sharon of West Chester, OH; two great grandchildren: Deborah and Dean; sisters: Mildred Kruse of Blair, Judy Rosenbaum of Sidney, NE; Nephews: Rick (Barb) Kruse of Bennington, Ron (Barb) Kruse of Kennard, Randy (Stacy) Rosenbaum, Jeff (Valeta) Rosenbaum, Jim (Lori) Rosenbaum all of Sidney, NE, David (Janet) Rosenbaum of Bennington; niece: Mari (Bill) Japp of Kennard; several great nieces and nephews and friends. Special friends Bill and Janet Tallman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elvin, brothers-in-law: Vern Kruse and Don Rosenbaum.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial may be directed to Grace United Methodist Church of Kennard or Crowell Memorial Home.
