Mildred L. Kruse, age 90 of Blair, passed away Nov. 4, 2018, at Crowell Home in Blair. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard. Visitation will be held Nov. 8, 2018, at Campbell Aman Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Mildred was born Jan. 12, 1928, to Glen and Nina (Ward) Rosenbaum. She was baptized at Kennard Grace Methodist Church on March 31, 1929. She graduated from Kennard High School in May 1945. After graduation, she moved to Omaha and went to work for Union Pacific.

Mildred married Vern Kruse on June 22, 1947. The couple lived on a farm west of Bennington for 33 years, and then moved to Vern's family farm. In November 2010, the couple moved to Blair.

Mildred was always active in the church, Lucky Day Extension Club and Royal Neighbors of America. Mildred was a 4-H Leader, and enjoyed working at the Douglas County Fair. Mildred and Vern enjoyed dancing and going on bus tours, and over the years they made countless, lifelong friends through these activities.

Mildred is survived by her sons, Rick (Barb) Kruse of Bennington and Ron (Barb) Kruse of Kennard; and her daughter, Mari (Bill) Japp of Kennard; her grandchildren, Denise (Bob) Rayman, Dana (Tim) Schmidt, Heather (James) Blackstone, Bill Japp, Todd Kruse, Jason (Amy) Japp, Dawn (John) Kruse and Jeremy (Lindsey) Kruse; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Judy Rosenbaum; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vern; sister, Helen; and her brothers-in-law, Elvin Kruse and Don Rosenbaum.

Memorials may be directed to Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard.
