Russell Christensen, 80, of Blair, passed away Nov. 24, 2018, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will follow in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Russell was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Blair, the son of Russell E. and Marjorie Christensen. He was raised on the family farm in Fort Calhoun and attended the Green school through the eighth grade, then attended and graduated from Fort Calhoun High School. Russell went to work for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., and then Western Electric in Omaha, followed by a 43-year career with Vicker's Hydraulics until his retirement in 2001. After his retirement, he continued to farm.

On Aug. 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Susie Sheets at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Russell enjoyed his John Deere tractors and his Ford vehicles. He was a member of the Blair Fire Department and was a recipient of the 50-year pin as a member of the Fort Calhoun Solomon Lodge #10.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Christensen; children, Russell (Joan) Christensen, Rodney (Melody) Christensen, Rolie Christensen and Ronda (Dan) Zoucha; grandchildren, Vicki (Matt) Smith, Herbert Christensen, Craig Christensen, Chelsea (Grant) Lurvey, Joslynn VanDerslice, Melissa (Cole) Kayton, Sam Christensen, Kyle Christensen and his fiancée Meghan Hurst; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Matty, Dustin and Stetson Smith, and Reid Lurvey; sister, Carol Cantey; brother, Dean (Syl) Christensen; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, David VanDerslice.

Memorials may be directed to the Blair Fire Department or the Fort Calhoun Solomon Lodge #10.
