Ellis, Michael P., Sr. Age 66 Michael P. Ellis Sr. passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at home in Council Bluffs, IA. He was born on August 6, 1952 in Council Bluffs to Mac and Gladys Ellis. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, before starting a long career with OPPD at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant. He started as a Steamfitter and worked his way up to Maintenance Supervisor. He also spent many years as the passionate Vice President of IBEW #763. Mick retired in 2007, after 35 years with OPPD. Soon after he bought Rolling Sharpening Stone. He enjoyed music, cars, sports, tools of all kinds, and taking apart and fixing anything with or without a motor. Mick is survived by his children: Michael Ellis, Jr. (Marlene), Eric Ellis (Melanie), Megan Halstead (Mike), and Lucas Ellis; five grandchildren: Josh Tripp, Elizabeth Ellis (Dovydas), Kasondara Ellis, Connor Ellis, and Scarlett Ellis; one great grandchild, Warner Tripp; three brothers: Mark (Cheryl) Ellis, Arlen (Kathy) Ellis, and Alan (Tedi) Ellis; four sisters: Judy (Gary) Pleas, Dixie (Earl) Mullins, Linda (Steve) King, and Toni Christensen. Pamela Jo Ellis. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mac and Gladys Ellis; sister, JoAnna (Denny) Scouler; and beloved friend and cousin, Tommy Thacker. Services for Mick will be held at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Monday, Dec. 3. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and the funeral service at 11 a.m., with lunch to follow.
